MEASURING YOUR BLINDS IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK.
We only need a couple of measurements to get started. Don't worry about getting everything perfect — we'll discuss your sizes, ask if anything doesn't look right and make sure you're happy before your blinds are made.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Nothing complicated but before you start, grab:
A METAL TAPE MEASURE
You'll get a much more accurate measurement than using a fabric tape.
A PEN AND PAPER
Just jot down your measurements as you go.

HOW TO TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS
Measuring for your printed blinds is easier than you might think. Whether your blind is going inside the window recess, over the opening or over a whiteboard, just choose the option below and follow our simple guide.
INSIDE RECESS
Fitting inside the window recess?
MEASURE THE WIDTH
Take the first measurements across the top or bottom of the window inside the recess to give the width of the blind.
MEASURE THE DROP
Measure from the top to the bottom of the recess.
Tip: If your window opens inwards or the recess is less than 60mm then you will be better with an outside recess fitting.
OUTSIDE RECESS
Fitting over the window opening?
MEASURE THE WIDTH
Measure the width of the window you would like your blind to cover. For best results, allow the blind to overlap the recess by approximately 50mm on each side – ensuring that you have enough space to accommodate the suggested overlap.
MEASURE THE DROP
Decide where you want the bottom of your blind to end and measure the length of the window from the top of the fitting to this point. Add 50mm at the top and bottom to make sure the blind fully covers the area.
WHITEBOARD BLIND
Fitting a blind over a whiteboard?
MEASURE THE WIDTH
Measure the whiteboard from the outside edge to the outside edge. As standard we add 100mm to the width of the whiteboard blind, 50mm each side, to ensure everything is covered.
MEASURE THE HEIGHT
Measure the whiteboard from the top edge to the bottom edge. As standard, we add additional fabric to the drop to ensure everything is covered.

We'd be more than happy to discuss how to measure for your blinds. For awkward installations, such as bay windows where several brackets need to line up, we can sometimes send the brackets out first so you can fit them before taking your final measurements. Nothing will be printed until everyone is happy the sizes are checked.

A FEW TIPS FROM US
USE A METAL TAPE
Fabric tapes can stretch. A metal tape will give you a more accurate measurement.
CHECK FOR OBSTRUCTIONS
Look for handles, vents, tiles or anything else that could get in the way of the blind.
MEASURE TWICE
It only takes another minute and could save a lot of hassle later.
